AMS is a part of the Dutch colonial education system in Indonesia. AMS is equivalent to high school (high school) at this point that the senior high school level. AMS uses introductory Dutch language and in the 1930's, AMS schools exist only in some provincial capitals Dutch East Indies, namely Medan (Sumatra), Bandung (West Java), Semarang (Central Java), Surabaya (East Java), Makassar (East Indonesia). In Indonesia Chinese societies stood Tiong Hoa Hwee Kuan ( THHK ) in 1900 which first established the meetinghouses to scatter chinese customs and morals according to the teachings of Kong Fu Tse . Their attention was focused on education by establishing schools .
